1. Data controller
Candice Sàrl, 1 Rue Maurice, 1204 Genève, Suisse — IDE/CHE : CHE-264.662.647. Publicus is the Swiss official-publication monitoring service operated by Candice Sàrl as data controller: cantonal gazettes in 24 cantons and the SOGC; VD and TG are covered through the SOGC only. For personal-data enquiries, contact: support@publicus.ch.
1bis. Processors & data sharing
To provide the service, we share certain data with processors: (a) hosting and database (European Union); (b) transactional email; (c) Paddle.com Market Ltd, our Merchant of Record, for payment processing, subscription management, billing and tax (VAT) calculation. Paddle receives your name, email, billing address and payment data, which it processes as an independent controller — see paddle.com/legal/privacy.
2. Data processed
We process two categories of data:
- Client account data — email address, hashed passwords, preferences, monitored keywords, login history. Legal basis: contract performance (art. 31 (2)(a) FADP).
- Data extracted from official publications — names of natural and legal persons, business names, addresses, cadastral parcels, company identifiers (UID), dates and types of official acts. This data comes exclusively from the official cantonal gazettes (Feuilles d'Avis Officielles / Amtsblätter / Fogli ufficiali) of all Swiss cantons except Vaud and Thurgau, plus the Swiss Official Gazette of Commerce (SOGC/SHAB). These are publicly available official publications (art. 5(1)(a) Swiss CopA). Legal basis: legitimate interest + data already made public by an authority (art. 31(2)(c) FADP).
3. Purposes
- Enable keyword or thematic monitoring and notify matching official publications in the covered cantons.
- Sending notifications and daily email digests.
- Security, fraud prevention and billing.
4. Retention
Official publications and generated alerts are retained for up to 12 months. Account data is retained as long as the account is active, then deleted within 90 days of termination.
5. Your rights (FADP)
Under the FADP, you have the following rights:
- Right of access (art. 25)
- Right to rectification (art. 32(1))
- Right to object to processing (art. 30(2)(b))
- Right to erasure (art. 32(2))
- Right to data portability (art. 28)
To exercise these rights, use our request form or write to us.
6. Hosting and processors
Data is hosted in the European Union. We use processors (hosting, email delivery) bound by standard contractual clauses with an adequate level of protection.
7. Supervisory authority
You may at any time lodge a complaint with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), Feldeggweg 1, 3003 Bern — edoeb.admin.ch.
8. Cookies and third-party services
